New PR outfit comes to town.

A new PR outfit is set to be unveiled tomorrow July 3rd, in what is a testimony of a growing industry.

According to a brief sent to the media, Engage Burson-Marsteller Kenya will be an anchor of the global firm Burson-Marsteller is a subsidiary of WPP in penetrating the East African Region.  Interestingly, the new outfit will be steered by the same hands that were behind the success of Gina Din Corporate Communications for nearly 10 years.

ImageDesiree Gomes popular as ‘Des’ in the industry will captain the outfit. This will put her in direct competition with among other established firms like GDCC, Hill and Knowlton Strategies, Ogilvy PR, Koome Mwambia led The Red House Group as well as Africa Practice.

The firm is in the initial stages of setting up and are currently housed in Westlands part of Nairobi. It is working with a skeleton staff but we are told they will in due course start an aggressive recruitment campaign

The firm Engage Burson-Marsteller Kenya will seek a piece of the growing pie in an industry said to have over 40 registered players.

The brief adds that Burson-Marsteller, was established in 1953, and is a leading global public relations and communications firm. It says they provide clients with strategic thinking and program execution across a full range of public relations, public affairs, reputation and crisis management, advertising and web-related strategies.
